Ok, weekly update time again and we’ve got plenty to go over this week. We’ve got the spring/summer mini schedule starting this week, the second work day for the Crush this Saturday, last week to get sponsorships in for the Crush, and it’s time to get pre-registered for the Crush. Plus the Crush itself is only a week and a half away!!!!
NEW MINI SCHEDULE
So it’s time to start the full mini schedule again. On Wednesdays we’ll have 2 singles minis and 2 doubles minis a month, and the Sunday skins will go back to Sunday Doubles at the Lake every Sunday. As most of you know….and some may not. Last year we started our singles minis as handicapped(thanks to Mikey). For those that have a handicap it will pick up where you left off when the winter mini schedule started. For those that don’t have a handicap or didn’t get the required minis in before the switch, here’s how it will work. You must play in 3 minis at that particular course for your handicap to go in to effect. So you play 2 minis straight up and the 3rd on you handicap starts. Each course has it’s own handicap, so you must play 3 at each course.
Starting this handicap system last year really helped to level the playing field for Singles minis. People who never even had a sniff at winning in the past started winning or at least finishing in the payout on a regular basis. So no matter how good or bad you are, if you shoot a good round for you…..you’ll have a shot at taking home some cash.
Here is how it will go:
1st Wed. Singles @ Brentwood
2nd Wed. Doubles @ Picnic Bend
3rd Wed. Doubles @ Brentwood
4th Wed. Singles @ Picnic Bend
5th Wed. “GET RIPTED WEDNESDAYS” @ Brentwood (meaning we’ll play innova’s card game Ript on those rare 5th wed.)
6pm teetimes, $5 to play with an optional $1 ace pot
Sunday EVERY SUNDAY DOUBLES
2pm teetime $5 to play $1 optional ace pot
THIS WEEK’S MINIS
So this week’s mini schedule will be:
Wednesday – Handicapped Singles at Brentwood 6pm teetime
Sunday – Random doubles 2pm teetime at the lake.
2nd Work Day
After a very poor turnout for the 1st work day at the lake this past weekend, we will have to have a second work day after all. That’s this Saturday 9:30 start time. Things that I know need to be done, but may not be everything are: Empty trash cans and replace the bags, fix any sleeves that are not useable, move any teeboxes that may not have gotten moved last weekend, paint the alternate course off, possibly paint off the backwards 9 for the final 9. Paint the new teemarkers blue and red. There might be a few other things as well, so we’ll see about that.
SPONSORSHIPS
This is the last week to turn in sponsorships for the Crush. As most know there are 2 different packages this year to do. The first one is $50 and that gets your logo on all the T-shirts, the second package is a combo of the logo on the shirt as well as a “hole sponsor sign” which is a coroplasts sign with the logo that was put on the shirt, and is $100. If you know someone to hit up for this, don’t wait…give it a try, the worst thing they can do is tell you not this time. These sponsors are a huge part of the Crush, so we need all we can get.
PRE-REGISTER
I can not stress this enough. We are really pushing for pre-registration this year for the Crush. This is the first year we have done this, and by doing so you will really, really help out the TD. So there is not 100 people lined up trying to get signed up come Saturday morning. So if you are planning to play the Crush please click on this link and get signed up today Not only does this help the TD, but it also looks good to those that are on the edge of coming to the Crush as more people are on the players list. So please, please sign up early if at all possible.
