Here's what up for this week in Disc Golf. We've got a Wednesday mini and a Sunday skins match. Also we've got "new" board members elected, and we are still signing up 2009 CVDGA members. A work day has been set for the Crush, and speaking of the Crush it's time to step up the sponsorship hunting efforts.

Minis

Well I have been asked a few times if we are still doing night glow or what with Minis. My response to that is, nope, it's half and half now. As you have probably noticed it's getting darker later and later. So soon we will be going to the singles doubles minis. But for now it's still random doubles at Picnic Bend this week. Teetime is 6pm. We'll probably get several holes in before it's time to flip the lights on.

Sunday we'll have a skins match at the lake. The turnout for this is picking up with football season being over. So soon it will go back to doubles at the lake. But for his week we'll keep it skins at 2pm. This might change depending on turnout. So go prepared for skins, but don't be surprised if it's doubles.

CVDGA 2009 Memberships

As many of you know we had our Membership Drive this past weekend. The new board members are the same as the old ones. No one was willing to step up and run against any of the existing officers. So everything stayed the same. Hopefully next year we'll have a few people willing to step up and give some of these guys a break. But for now the board looks like this:
President: Cody Newton
VP: Brandn Moore
Sec. Jr Floyd
Treas. Jeanne Moore
Course Maint. Justin Cartwright
Membership Director: Jason Moore

If you were unable to attend the Saturday Membership drive, but would like to sign up to become a 2009 CVDGA member stop by either Cortese Flag or Beluh 42, and either Jason or Jaime will get you signed up.

Crush on the Concho

Ok first order of business to let you know about is the first work day setup for the Crush. Feb. 28th is the day, and we'll be getting started at 9am. Things to do are empty trash cans, make sure all teeboxes are in good shape and move the ones that are not. Check all the pin placements to make sure tabs are good, and just other general course maintenance. So if you can, and are willing to help out make plans now to be there to help!!!!

Sponsorships
Sponsorships are starting to roll in (thanks Brad and a few others), but we still need more help. So if you can hit up who ever you might know that would like to help out this event, and get their name on 100 shirts that will go out to people all over Texas. We have 2 different sponsorship packages this year. The first package is the normal package we have done the last few years. It's $50 and that gets you name/logo on the shirt, as well as the name mentioned in all player meetings. The 2nd package is $100 and that gets your name/logo on the shirts, but it also makes you a hole sponsor. Which means you will get a sign that has your name/logo printed on it and it will be displayed next to the teebox. This is a club wide project, not just a board member project. We need all the help we can in getting sponsors together. So please help out if you can!!!! Hit your boss up, your buddy with his own business, ect.......the worse thing they can do is say no, but you might be surprised at how many yeses you can get by just asking. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP WITH THIS!!!!

All sponsors need to be in by the first week of March at the very latest. If they have a logo that can be emailed send it over to me, or if it's a business card swing it by the shop next time you're in the area.
