 8-7-2012 Tuesday is here once again, but this week there is not a whole lot going on as far as disc golf in the area goes. We have a full mini schedule. We have a work day scheduled for next weekend. Other than the new date for the 9th Annual West Texas Doubles that is really about it for this week’s update.
I do want to thank Patty, Coby, and Jeanne for everything done at the 1st ever members only tourney this last weekend. I know I had a great time out there, and I hope everyone else enjoyed their self’s just as much. For those that did not make it for whatever reason…you missed out. I think there were around 14-18 CTPs given out, a whole lot of raffle prizes(at not cost for your ticket), and one good time had! Congrats to Jeanne and Moose for winning the throw-off to break the tie between them and Rudy/Brodie. The first 2 will receive 2013 CVDGA members, and a free entry into this year’s Ace Race. Rudy and Brodie will also receive 2013 memberships for their 2nd place efforts.
MINS
Wednesday’s mini is set or random doubles at Picnic Bend. Teetime is 6pm.
Saturday’s mini will also be random doubles, but the location is set for South Concho Park. Teetime is 10am.
Sunday’s Lake mini is the singles mini of the week 2pm teetime for this one.
9th Annual West Texas Doubles
The new official date for this year’s West Texas Doubles is set for September 29-30th. More info will be released after next week’s board meeting.
WORK DAYS
With the doubles tourney on the way that means work days to get the courses in the best possible shape for the event. The first work day has been set for August 18th at North Concho Park. The main thing getting done with this work day is to mow and weedeat the park. Work on completing the island hole may also be happening. We will also be emptying the trash cans.
If you are planning on coming out, be sure you have filled out your work release form with me here at the Shop before showing up. If this is not filled out and filed with both myself and the city you are not allowed to work on this course.
A Brentwood work day will be set up and announced in the near future as well.
