 6-26-2012 Weekly update time of this week is here. This week we have a mostly full mini schedule. There is another B tier to the north of us in Levelland. Junction is the next event on the schedule in the area. The CVDGA is working out the final details, but we are planning a member’s only tourney in a little over a month. And just a reminder, but the lake course is still pulled and will stay pulled until after the 4th of July holiday. We also have a date for the 9th Annual West Texas Doubles ready for release.
Congrats to the CVDGAer’s that made the payout this last weekend up in Abilene. Mooseknuckle finished in last payout in the Open division. Junior Hernandez took 5th in the Adv. Masters. Robert Speights took 10th in Int. In Rec. Ryan Betzing finished in the 5th spot and Trey Boatright took home 10th. Hope I got everyone…Congrats to you guys!
MINIS
Wednesday’s mini will be at Picnic Bend and the format will be handicap singles. Teetime is 6pm.
Saturday’s mini is a 5th Saturday mini…Anyone know what that means? It’s another round of GET RIPT SATURDAY! 10am teetime, and the location is North Concho. Bring plenty of water and “other refreshements”, as the last Get Ript Saturday took quite a while to get through.
Sunday’s mini is cancelled due to no baskets at the lake.
Levelland’s Lighthouse on the Plains
Really hating that I am going to miss Levelland for the 2nd year in a row. This is a great tourney, and I hope to see a lot of CVDGAers on the list to congratulate in next week’s update.

At this point, this is looking like the next event I am going to get to make, and after playing in it last year I am really looking forward to making it again. Just hoping I do a little better than last year!!! As well as doing a little soaking in the Llano river!

CVDGA Member’s Only Tourney
The CVDGA Board members are wanting to put on a THANK YOU FOR THE SUPPORT member’s only tourney in August. This was the 1st year the club has reached the 50 player mark, and ended up blowing that away reaching 60+. This means disc golf is growing greatly in San Angelo, and we want to give a little appreciation back. This event will be free to play in, but you must be a current, dues paid, form filled out member before the event. There will be no member signups the day of….
There will be some CTP prizes and raffle prizes. The actual payout will be a free entry into the 2012 CVDGA Ace Race, a free 2013 CVDGA membership, and just for good measure…and life time Patty Fan club membership! 2nd place will receive a 2013 CVDGA Membership as well.
Location will be at the Sunken Garden on August 4th
Check in will be at 8am

Not a ton of info on this year as it’s still a few months out. We just wanted to get the date out there so everyone can mark their calendars.
September 15th and 16th will the weekend! So start spreading the word and let’s make this the biggest W.T.D ever!
ACE RACE Info
For those looking for Ace Race info, we have decided to move this year’s Ace Race back a couple of months. No official date has been set yet but we are looking for either October or maybe even early November for some cooler weather. More info will be released after the next board meeting in August.
That should cover us this week….we’ll see you at the park!
