6-12-2012

Tuesday is here once again, which means it’s time to get caught up on what’s coming up in the world of West Texas Disc Golf. We have 2 minis on the schedule for this week. The lake course will be pulled at some point over the weekend due to the up-coming boat races, and will stay out until after the 4th of July. The ADGA guys are having a Wild hair Warmup this weekend, followed by the actual Wild Hair the next. Then the Levelland guys are next on the schedule with the Light House on the Plains B tier in 3 weeks. Other than minis for the next few weeks the CVDGA is working on details for a Member’s only tourney coming up next month…should have more on this in next week’s update. Then before we know it, it will be Ace Race time once again.

I want to thank JC and everyone that helped him pull off another great Menage A Trois this last weekend. As I’ve said I just love this event, and I think it gets better and better every year. I also want to thank Jack for his help in getting the courses in the best possible shape. Congrats goes out to both The Warlock 1 team and to the Low Putt team for some great competition this weekend in the ‘pro’ division. Who would have thought after 66 holes of play on day one any team would be tied with all the different formats, then only to be followed up by another tie on day 2 after those crazy formats, only to be topped again by a double birdie on hole 11 at S.C. to keep the playoff going. All this after the same two teams battled it out for DFL on day 2 of last year’s event. Great Times!!! Congrats also go out to Team Hard Core for taking 1st place in the ‘adv.’ division edging out Team WTF Waz That? From Odessa after having 2 of their teammates drop out the night before. Scores have been posted here if you want to check them out http://www.conchovalleydiscgolf.org/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?9247.75#post_10839
