Tuesday is here once again…and what do you know it’s weekly update time again as well. This week we have 2 minis on the schedule, no lake mini. The 10th Annual Wild Hair in Abilene is this weekend…hope to see a lot of CVDGAer’s on the players list. The Menage A Trois is the next event for San Angelo happening in July. Then Junction’s FlyInk Sizzler will be the next weekend.
I would like to thank all 13 people who showed up to the work day blitz this last weekend. We got a ton accomplished and I hope that the people that weren’t there take the time to personally thank you all. But in case that is too much trouble for some, I for sure want to thank each one of you for all you did Saturday. Christian Aviles, Micah Mariano, Carl ‘Wamski”, Trey Boatright, Junior Rivera, Denise, Jeanne, Sara, Cookie, Coby, Sean, Patty we accomplished something Saturday that we can all be proud of for years to come. The CVDGA and disc golf thanks you all!
MINIS
Wednesday’s mini is set for random doubles at Brentwood…teetime is 6pm
Saturday’s mini is scheduled for doubles at North Concho 10am teetime
(next Saturday is yet another GET RIPT round…to bad it looks like I will be out of town)
No Sunday minis for the next 3 weeks. The lake course has been pulled for boat races and will stay out until after the 4th of July weekend.
10th Annual Wild Hair – Abilene
As I said above I hope to see a lot of CVDGAer’s on the players list this weekend. Abilene does a great job of supporting our Crush on the Concho so let’s try and do the same for their big event of the year…and a special one at that, there is only 1 10th Annual!!!
Online registration will run through Thursday, then the only “in person signups” will be Friday afternoon during the doubles round. So don’t wait to late and miss out.

Ménage A Trois
The 5th Annual Menage a Trois is just a little over a month away. Have you gotten your team ready? Don’t wait till the last second lock the other two players down now!
Date: July 20th and 21st
Courses: Brentwood, Picnic, North Concho, and South Concho(with added holes)
Once again there will be 2 divisions to compete in. The “Big Cup” and the “Little Cup”, both divisions are $99 per team($33 a person).
Team makeups go as follows:
Big Cup
1 Open 1 Adv 1 Int
Small Cup
1 Adv. 1 Int. 1 Rec.
JC will once again be the TD of the event and should have online and in person registration opening up fairly soon.

Well I am a day late this week and really busy so here is the short and sweet of this week’s update. Major work day is set for this weekend, we can use all the help we can get. There is a full mini schedule for the week. The Abilene Wild Hair is getting closer and closer, and there is probably a Wild Hair Warm-Up even this weekend.
Also wanted to update everyone on how to handle rainout minis from here on out. Since we had the first one in years last Wednesday we figured we needed a plan to handle it. The rule will be to payout individual cards for the amount of holes played before the rain out. This goes for both singles and doubles, but in singles it will go by straight up score…handicaps are thrown out. Cards of 5 and smaller will pay winner takes all, 6 or more will pay out 1st and 2nd. Now remember, if it’s just rain there is no calling it off…this is for bad weather like the other night with dangerous lightning, and some hail. High wind and rain doesn’t equal a rain out.
MINIS
Today is set for random doubles at Picnic Bend, 6pm teetime
Saturday is set for random doubles at North Concho, but I promise if you show up to the mini you will be put to work! Work day starts at 9am.
Sunday will be handicap singles at the lake, 2pm teetime for the Father’s Day mini.
Night Flight Series
I just left off that StevO is planning to set up the night glow lights this weekend at North Concho Park. This is a bonus round for the Night Flight Series…it doesn’t go towards qualifying for the finals of the Night Flight series which will happen next week…but it does give everyone a chance to play some night glow.
Meet time is 8:30pm Tee time is 9pm North Concho Park
WORKDAY BLITZ
So this weekend we are planning a major work day that will include 3 of the courses in San Angelo. We will be meeting up at 9am at North Concho Park to start and split into groups.
Things we will be doing:
North Concho – installing teepads like at Brentwood. Wood boxes filled with chat and rubber over the top. Emptying trash cans and picking up trash, fallen limb clean up.
Picnic Bend – mowing hole one’s landing area and hole 2’s walk paths. Also emptying the trash can.
Middle Concho – pulling baskets for the boat races as well as 4th of July. Also trash pickup would be great.
If you do not have a waiver form filed with me before Friday you will be on a Picnic Bend or Lake work crew. These must be filed with the City before you can work at North Concho…meaning you can not fill one out Saturday morning.

I think there will soon be a work day scheduled as there is a lot of work to be done on some of the courses. It’s not to late to renew or signup for your 2013 CVDGA Membership…we had 60 members last year and we are just barely over 30 this year? Which brings up the questions where have all the members gone?
Minis

2013 CVDGA Membership
Are you a member of the club for 2013? If not…why not? This is an easy way to help support local disc golf and the many costs that occur throughout the year. Including putting on tourneys, tourney supplies, work day costs, course improvement costs, PO Box costs, Storage Building costs, ect…as you can see there is a lot of costs involved in having an active club. So due this easy show of support and renewing or joining the CVDGA for the 2013 year!

5th Round Summer Night Flight Series
This Saturday is the 5th round of 6 of the Night Flight Summer Series. This week will be held at South Concho. But only holes 12 through 18 plus a few added temp basket holes will be played. SteveO says no water will be played.
Sign in is about 8:30
Teetime is 9:00.
You must make 3 of the 6 rounds to be eligible for the grand prize round.
Basic info of the series:
It will be singles play and the series is going to be run like any other mini, but the payout will be held until the end to the top points earners.
$5 buy in each week with the same amounts going to payout as at regular minis. $1 Ace Pot
Just a save the date at this point. July 20th & 21st will be the one and only Menage A Trois. The only tourney I know you get to play singles, doubles, triples, and a few other fun formats thrown in just for good measure!
Same cost as always $99 per team

The 10th Annual Abilene Wild Hair is just about 1 month out. As some have probably noticed the pad installation at North Concho had to be delayed over the weekend. We are currently working to reschedule this work day, but nothing has been set yet.
I’d like to send out some Congratulations to the White Family. Lotosha and Patty had their 2nd kid, a little girl, Monday. Both Mom and baby are doing great. Welcome to the world Adalyn! Can’t wait to see you on the disc golf course in the future!
