April 23rd is the day set for rebuilding the bridge. If you want to put your name on the bridge as a major contributor please be there or post what you can bring to help. If you have questions or ideas please let us know!
I would also like to know if anyone has a ridding mower... More about this later but you could be a STAR if you have one!
Uh....and here I was thinking with Master Carpenter Coby on the job we're sure to be there until 3!!!! Probably have to go to City at least 3 times before they close...then one trip to Lowes just for good measure!!
We actually need to weedeat the whole other side of the river if we want to get a grip on it before it gets too tall, so we might need more than one if at all possible. And Sean your a lucky punk

You're probably right Jason.....but it will be done right. I hope.
are they going to be break away bridges? that way if it floods they can just be pulled back into place. i will try to come. sunday is better for me, so if you have some unfinished tasks let me know
WOW, what a project we took on Saturday! But the new bridge is up and looks pretty freaking sweet even if I do say so myself. This was paid for by the CVDGA, as well as some personal donation of material and money by club members.
It took us 9+ hrs to build from 9 to about 6:30. So there was plenty of work to go around all day long. Had some pretty tired guys out there by the time we got done for sure! So if you see any of these people BE SURE TO THANK THEM in person, as they are the ones doing the work for the many!!!!
BIG THANKS TO: Coby, Cookie, Mikey, Carl, Sean, Mooseknuckle(kirk), Ashley, Micah, Dave and myself. So not just a whole lot of us! Some where there from start to finish, some left, some left and came back...but without them all this would have been a whole lot harder to get finished in a day.
For those not out there to help, please respect and try to take care of this bridge any way possible.

Well...it was way past 3....and while I think we only made 2 trips to City, I know I made 2 to lowes and 1 to home depot(plus a couple other trips I didn't make)...but we got it done!
I saw pics of the bridge yesterday and it looks great!! Thank all of you for taking time out of your lives to improve the disc golf courses for everyone. From what I saw, you should all be really proud of yourselves!
WHOOOHOOOOOO!!!! SUCCESS!!! The non-break-away bridge passed it first test perfectly last night! Went by this morning, and the old bridge would have probably still be at list beign hit(and pushed) with water, if not under water.
Looks like those 9 or 10 bridge builders did an outstanding job! Especailly since it rained and we don't have to plan a day to go fix it! WHOOOHOOO!!!
Woo Hoo No Repairs !! I was really worried that it wasn't a break away bridge because of the floods we get down there. I think that great minds are the reason that it stands. Well that and 50 thousand GIANT bolts!
Well I went down yesterday to block the steps on the bridge before one broke.....TO LATE, the middle step had already broken. I got it fixed though, and blocked the rest....hopefully that will fix that issue.
While I was there I got to see the ropes get fully test: guy completely fell off the bridge as he was trying to throw a rock at a disc in the tree. They did their job, he twisted up in them, but didn't hit the water. So that was good to know they work.
But, I am not sure who is/was in charge of getting the other ropes on the other side done, but they need to be fixed ASAP. If the above incident would have happened on the other side it could have been bad.
Mini is at Picnic today....anybody going to or by lowes that can get 2 more ropes and bring them to the mini? Maybe we can get them done before we start the mini.
Well I guess our celebration about not having to fix the bridge any more was pre-mature. A couple of weeks ago I noticed the top rope/handrails was cut and taken. Well yesterday the other top one was also gone...well except for the knot at the end.
Wondering if we should replace with rope, or maybe try some cable then crimp the end to make a loop and put locks on both sides? Any opinions or other suggestions?
