I just read last night that F1 has just signed a deal to bring Formula 1 back to the US...and not only to the US, but to Austin, Texas!!!! Won't start for a couple more years(2012) as they are building a track made just for F1.
But I can tell you I am excited....and sure hope I can afford tickets to go! I've always wanted to see F1 live!
Well just looking at the Montreal race this weekend a 3 day general admission pass is only $126. That's not to bad for 1 day of practice session, 1 of qualifing, and 1 race day.
On the other side the weekend grandstand1 pass is almost $550! Of course there are cheaper grandstand seats as well.
Think I'd probably like to start out with general admission anyway...that way you are not locked into 1 seat for the entire weekend.
So they announced the name of the track down in Austin and released some 3d drawings of the course. From the looks and sound of things it's going to be one of the best curcuits in the world!
Can't wait to buy my tickets!!!! and FEEL this:
Could it be better than drag boats in person????(probably not quite as good since there is no nitro...but I bet it is AMAZING!)
Date has been announced for the 1st F1 race in Austin. June 17th will be the day....which is good, at one point it was looking like it was going to be the same weekend as the Menage, would hate to have to miss it...glad I don't have to make that choice now!
With that date...it means I'll have the F1 race one weekend then the next will be the boat races!
Start saving up now, looks like tickets for a 3 day pass will be around $200!!! I'll be getting my ticket as soon as I hear they go on sale, anyone else for sure willing to go?
They just announced a possible date change for the F1 race.....they are going to move it to Nov. 18th, 2012...can anyone think of a reason for me to be EXTREMELY BUMMED about this???? I've got a HUGE choice to make now.....
Maybe you will get lucky and they will keep the original date or keep it out of November. Pray from a home game for the Longhorns, which Austin can't handle both things going on hotel wise. Fingers crossed.
Well after hearing some news this weekend, and doing some research today....it looks like F1 will not be coming to Texas next year, and maybe not even happen at all! Apparently there are money issues, as well as New Jersey trying to get their own GP, whihc was suppose to be Texas excluse as far as US GP go.
Good and bad with that...no F1 race for me next year, but that means I won't be missing Texas Teams either!
Well as most of you know F1 is back on...and I just bought my ticket (and Cookie's) last night! 3 day general addmission was $185(in case anyone is insterested). Now all we got to do is wait for November!
If any of you have been paying attention to the season, you will already know that this has been a wild season....7 races with 7 different winners! I've been watching F1 for 10 years or so and I have never seen anything like it!
Also read they are going to do an American Lemans race here, maybe next year. I love GT racing as well.
Moose did you ever go see the ALMS races in downtown Houston? I didn't start watching it until the last year they had it there....bet that would have been AWSOME to see!
