I know it will be more work, but I like the idea of seperate ace pots for each course. Before South Concho was installed, I didn't mind the shared ace pots at the two 9-hole courses. I think an ace had the same chance of bieng hit at either course.
Now that there are two very aceable holes,(12,16 South Concho) I think there should be different ace pots. If ASU is going to be included, we should definitely have seperate pots for each course.
I voted for the seperate pots for each course, but if the two nine hole courses are going to be played on wednesdays, I don't think there would be much difference. The lake on Sundays, and ASU, S.Concho on Sat's. I guess it really wouldn't matter whether the pot was per course or mini.
I guess what I am trying to say is that I don't think that all the ace pots should be together.
As for the ace pot now, split it between the courses or mini's (whichever way the vote goes).
If we seperate them now, the money already paid for at South Concho would be lost; but I think it should be seperated. The ace pot right now should be for the lake, brentwood, and picnic. We should start a new ace pot for South Concho and even ASU! Just my opinion!

Thought I'd mention, there has only been 1 mini with money paid towards the Ace Pot(sunday) at South Concho, and I asked Jeanne to mark that amount as "SC" so when we decided what we were going to do...it would be known how much went there.
As for ASU, I don't think we need to worry about an Ace Pot there. If we do minis there this winter, we can always throw off for it like last year. I always liked the $2 throw off pot there. Gave the "non-winners" a chance to win something.
Only 5 people care about what we do with the Ace Pot? Guess I should have put another option of putting it in my pocket!! I'd of split it with anyone that voted for it :D
We'll let this run for at least a week to make sure anyone that wants can vote. But I'd say for now if we do another mini at SC, the ace pot(other than the money marked SC) does not get paid out if one is hit over there. At least not until the vote goes final.
I thought all our worries about what to do about the existing ace pot were going to be over last night when the ace got hit on #2. But low and behold, somebody didn't pitch in on the ace pot. boohoo.
I'm going to try to start the Saturday singles this weekend at 10am. I'll call around tomorrow and let everyone know, but with the short notice there's no telling what sort of turnout I'll get.
I like the idea of mixing the singles and doubles - should we look into holding singles rounds at the lake too?

Once the mini schedule changes to the "winter schedule" all sunday's will be singles. Since they switch to skins. But, I wouldn't mind having a handicapped singles mini at the lake.
Since you are starting singles this weekend, and it's actually a 5th weekend, the mini schedule would need to restart next weekend to get on a 4 weekend rotation. So schedule to look something like this:
1st weekend Sunday doubles/skins at Middle Concho 2nd weekend Saturday singles(handicapped) at South Concho 3rd weekend Sunday singles(handicapped) at Middle Concho 4th weekend Saturday doubles South Concho
look good to everyone?
Of course the lake needs to be pulled next week for labor day weekend. So the first mini wouldn't make.
Oh and I'll try to make it Saturday... Jeanne's got a lot going on with a going away party she is throwing for one of her friends, so I might be on Zoey duty though. We'll see....
Even though the vote is still on going, it looks like the majority of people that are willing to vote want seperate Ace Pots. So this will be the second mini with money going towards the South Concho Ace Pot.
We still need more input on what to do with the current ace pot. My vote would be to split it between Brentwood and Picnic since that is where most of the money has come from anyway. Start a new Ace Pot for the lake, and I think we have $6 or $7 for S.C.
Sounds good to me, My thought was for the 18 hole courses to have there own Ace pots and the 9 holes to share. Just my idea, seperate Ace pots per course is good with me to.
Ok so the votes have seemed to come to a stop now...8 people decided they would like a voice in what we do with their ace pot....and the vote went "seperate Ace Pots"
So here is the break down of the current Ace Pot for each course:
South Concho $14 Lake $50 Picnic Bend $104 Brentwood $131
Big THANKS to Jeanne for going back and looking up which days money went to which course for all of us.
Wow! Great job with the record keeping Jeanne, I really didn't expect to be able to separate them easily.
Think you or Jason can keep the ace pot thread updated? It's turned out to be more than I can handle.
Jeanne is great!
I can tell you I will not keep up with the ace pot thread...not that it's to much to handle....just that I won't remember to do it. Plus I don't attend many Sunday minis...and won't for the next 6 months. (I am not answering for Jeanne, but I doubt she will either..for one she doesn't even attend minis so the Ace Pot is meaningless to her, and the other is she just doesn't come on here very often.)
If people need/want it to be updated regularly...it needs to be done by someone that attends more minis that I do......
I keep up with the ace pot at home, anyone that has won it sees I have an envelope and on the outside each date is written with the amount and that is how I was able to figure it for each park because I also keep a ledger with the minis with the date and which park was played, so now I just have an envelope for each park. That being said, I will not be posting these weekly or really probably ever because I don't want to have to "try" and remeber to do that with everything else I do. Time is a big reason you don't see me out on the course much anymore becuase I just don't seem to have as much of it anymore with other obligations I have. If anyone wants to know the amounts from time to time, shoot me an email and I will get you the info to post. I also don't frequent this forum much and probably only have since the doubles are next week, but after that you probably won't be hearing from me on here, sorry but my time is spread thin! ;;)

in response to just this part...hitting an ace is an ace the ace-able holes are the same distance at any venue
