Well Texas Teams is coming up quickly....November 22-23 to be exact. San Angelo can take up to 3 teams to this event.
1 - 9 man team and 2 - 6 man teams.

I am captaining our return to the established division since our top team last year won the newly made "merged" division. Which is for places to big to have an emerging team(we finished 2nd 2 years ago in this division) and to small for an established team. I have almost got this team full, all I need at this point is a 40 year old to either play Open Masters or be the swing player and go Adv. Masters. Hoping Greg Brooks out of Big Springs fills this spot.

JR is captaining a 6 man merged team(the division the Warlock1 team won last year). From what I understand he's still looking for a couple of players, at least the last I talked to him about it. So if you want to offer your services up to him let him know.

That leaves one team that can be captained by anyone willing to step up and form a team. This 3rd team, from what I understand, can go to either the merged or emerging division. Which are both 6 man teams made up of 3 adv, and 3 am players. If anyone is interested in running this team and needs info about signups, or help filling the team, or just hlep in general and I can help...please let me know. I'd love to see 3 CVDGA teams at Texas Teams this year.

I promise you this IS THE MOST FUN TOURNEY THERE IS. I've gone for the last 2 years, finishing 2nd the first and 1st the second year and it just keeps getting more and more fun. Plus Circle R is 2 of the best courses I have ever played. I especially like the meadow.

So far here's what our established team looks like depending on who ends up filling out the 9th spot:
Pro1 Nick
Pro2 Johnny Deleon
Adv1 Patty
Adv2 Brandn
Int1 Pete
Int2 Jason
Open Masters
Ams Women Jeanne
Swing(grandmasters, adv. masters, open women) Carl in grandmasters.

The last I heard on Merged team:(I don't know who's playing what positions ADV1-Ams3)
Ashley
Sean
JR
Matty G.

Don't miss this event if at all possible!!!! Get on a team, or get to forming up that 3rd team now! Who's interested?

There's some talk of forming a third team. With Thomas, myself, and Bryan - we're halfway there. Guess we should ask around during the doubles tournament and see if anyone else is interested.

That is good to hear....I think it would be sweet if we could get 3 teams together on this. 21 CVDGAer's at Texas Teams!!! WOW!!!

Don't know exactly who is on, or what JR's team looks like, but others tourney goer's you might check with:
Juice(has experience at this course...even captained a team 2 years ago)
Scott(has played them once with us the first year at our warm up trip.)
Rod
Isaac
Mike T.
maybe even Brad if he isn't on JR's team

Would look pretty good at this:

Adv1: Scott
Adv2: Bryan
Adv3: Juice
Ams1: Isaac
Ams2: Thomas
Ams3: Mikey

of course some of those could be interchangeable. And if you did get Brad, having him take one of the ADV, and drop Juice to Ams1.

I wonder if we can take an Established, a Merged, and a Emerging team. Or if we have to take 1 Est., and 2 Emerging. Once you guys find out if you are for sure getting a team together let me know and I will contact the powers that be at Circular Production and see what divisions we'd have to go in.

Sounds like San Angelo has filled 3 teams for this year's Texas Teams already...might be some back-outs. So if you are one that is interested in play be sure to post here. So when someone is looking for a replacement they know where to look.

To all you captains out there(Mikey and JR). They have just opened up registration for this year's Teams. Might want to go check out circularproductions.com to get any details you might need lined out. There is also a thread on the PDGA board that the TD(Mitch Justice) will answer questions and post new info as it becomes avalible.

WHOOHOO CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS YEAR'S TEAMS!!!!!!!!!

Texas Teams wrote ...

Every course in Texas is invited to send a team. Teams may also represent schools, ultimate teams, or other organizations. Some courses send more than one team.

We might need to get a headcount together and see about a possible 4th team. I know it'd be extremely unlikely that everyone will be able to make it, but it's worth looking into. Also keep in mind it's $50 per player - don't want anyone to be surprised.

So far the teams are:
Established
Nick
Johnny Deleon
Patty
Brandn
Pete
Jason
?
Jeanne
Carl

Merged 1
JR
Ashley
Sean
Matty G.
?
?

Merged 2
Bryan
Thomas
Rex
Ryan
Mike
Belinda

Others ?
Juice
Scott
Isaac
Mike T.
Rod
Tanner
Jason (another one)
I can think of a ton of other people who might be interested and haven't been asked.

As for Jason and JR, who's filling in those blank spots in your roster? Last I heard Brad had a birthday he couldn't skip out on - something about his wife.

I really doubt we get a 4th team to go.....Don't even know if we can. I know what it says on the website, but even last year we had to OK taking 2 merged teams. Since we are taking an established team this year taking 2 emerging teams shouldn't be a problem...but a 3rd would probably need to get the OK before it gets to far along.

I think JR's team looks a little different than that now...JC, and Cody are on it, and either Bo or Brad is going to fill the last spot(Sean had to back out)? Me, I'm looking for that 50 year old still. Waiting to hear back from Greg Brooks, and if he's a no go..then I'll probably pick up Junior if he can make it.

Mikey's right, need to make sure everyone knows it's $50 to signup, and there is NO payout.....you are just playing for team pride and the fun of Texas Teams. Only way to get something is to finish first or second.

Where the hell were you yesterday Frenchie???? You and Brandn being sissy's together I guess.......

Good to hear Brad!! We are going to have a blast this year!

So is there really enough interest to push for an answer on that 4th team? Anybody willing to step up and captain it if I do get the OK from the powers that be? If there is I'll find out....if there isn't, I don't want to waste my time.

so post if there is.....Otherwise we'll just stick to 3 teams....which is already 1 more than we've taken so far.

Who all that is going wants to hotel it vs. camp it?

Circle R is 15 miles from Blanco, and 15 miles from Wimberley. We normally stay in Blanco, as it's cheaper than Wimberley. The only other place is either Dripping Springs, or a RV park we camped at the first time we went down(ohhh the chimenay...right Patty )...and froze our you know what's off. Mean while Brandy slept outside the tent by the fire.....on the ground. That's one tough girl there.

I've kind of been getting votes for my team as I got the info I need from them. So far most want to hotel it....Out of the ones I have talked to Carl is the only one that wants to camp without a doubt. I am on the fence, and will just go with what the majority of my team wants to do. Which again looks like hotel.

My team split. As of yesterday, Thomas is looking to captain a team with Rex and Ryan Stephens, I assume Tanner will join them along with another couple of players.

I'm also feeling very unmotivated right now, so that's not helping matters.... and the time keeps flying by.

Thomas, if you are looking for players, you might hit up Juice. He has experience not only with the courses, but also with the in's and out's of Texas Teams. Which could be a big help with things. I think Rod also had some interest at one point, don't know if he still has it or not.

JR what course are you going in as?
The establilshed team will go as Middle Concho, you and Thomas need to figure out which course you guys team is from.

Oh, what about Bryan? He'd also be a good one to pick up. If he didn't drop out on Mikey also.
