Well figured that Brentwood and Picnic had a mini thread..why not one for the Sunday mini.
What a turnout yesterday....When I came driving up I thought we were having a tourney out there. Not use to seeing that many cars at the lake. Anyway great time yesterday, and almost perfect conditions. Had 13 players, so it went to doubles instead of skins for the week. Can't remember all the scores, cause I left the card at home, but here's what I do know.
Well, Brad was in earlier today and we were talking about the Sunday Skins match and it being Super Bowl Sunday. I think the mini time needs to be moved up to at least noon. What does everyone else think? Or is there even anybody planning on making it out?
Well we had I think 13 or 15 people out yesterday for the "membership sign up reschedule". Didn't get the other card, but we ended up playing doubles. So I am not sure on the exact scores here, but here's what I got.
Don't forget, today's Sunday Mini will be played on the alt. 18 hole course that will be used at the Crush next weekend. This is your first chance to get a sneak peak before the tourney. 2pm teetime!!!
WOW, what a turnout for a Sunday mini....kind of makes you wonder why we don't have those kind of turnouts ever weekend(or wednesday)? I think there were 23 people that signed up for the mini, and another say dozen or more of other players out there.

Sounds like y'all had a good round. I played a 28 holes at Spring Valley CC and would highly recommend it! Hole 1 is 956' with the basket sitting behind a water hazard!! Then once you get to hole #3, you've got a ~250' shot through a tunnel with only a 25' ceiling. Needless to say, this course requires just about every shot you've got (though I never saw a good thumber opportunity).
I'll have the Sunday scores updated within the hour. Perhaps we should just sticky a thread and keep the ace pot information in there. Might make it a little bit easier to keep track of from day to day.
not sure on the scores, but these were the results. Nick and Frenchie won, the other 2 tied. All payout went to first.

So the last few weeks Sunday mini turnouts have been pretty low. Some of that is due to all the tourneys the last few weeks...so because it's hot, some maybe because people only like to play one mini a week.
So I had an idea yesterday, what if we only do the sunday lake mini on the 2nd and 4th weekends, and do the 1st and 3rds at ASU? With Football season just around the corner, and cold weather not far behind(maybe :?) the sunday minis will be going back to singles skins probably anyway....why not do some of them at ASU. Opinions?
For anyone looking for today's Sunday mini. It has been moved to ASU at 2pm. There are several campers in the way out at the lake on a couple of holes, and since we just played out there yesterday...it sounded like everyone wanted something different this week.
We had 9 players out for Sunday dubs at ASU. Counted them all as par 3s just to make counting easier. Can't remember all the scores, but here's what I do.
Well finally made it out to a Sunday mini.....had a great time out. And the turn out is for sure picking up at these.... Played doubles again yesterday(they played doubles last week as well).
Looks like it's turned back into doubles at the lake since football is over. I'd say the rest of this month it will continue as is(all money goes to payout), but starting next month it will go back to a club mini and ace pot.
(there's only one more sunday in feb.)

Thought I ought to post that there will be no Sunday mini at the lake Easter Sunday. No matter what the guy that does the weekly updates says... :-$ ...A few of us went out and pulled the baskets so the campers don't use them as trash can, boat tie offs, or for bbqin'....let's just hope the teemarkers and trash cans make it through the night!
