10/16/2012 Tuesday is here and with that it’s time for this week’s update. The 1st Annual Basherpalooza in Brownfield is this weekend, and if you haven’t signed up yet it’s not to late you for you to get in. They are allowing day of registration. If doubles is more your thing, Brady is having the 2nd Annual Vision Heights doubles tourney next weekend at Richards Park. The week after that is the Ace Race, which registration has closed on. So as you can see there is a lot of tourney disc golf happening in the next few weeks. There is also a full schedule of minis on tap for this week. This will be the last month before the Fall/Winter schedule takes over so if you want to play every Wednesday you’ve got the next three Wednesday’s to do it.
Cookie is calling a small workday for this Saturday at Picnic Bend to clear the fallen tree on hole 1. If anyone has a chainsaw or is willing to help stack wood your help would be greatly appreciated as 3 of the normal work day guys will be out of town at other tourneys. 9am meeting time….and will probably only last a couple of hours. Unless enough show up and want to help clean out the reeds from under the bridge…..
Also before we get fully into this week’s update I’d like to CONGRATULATE this year’s Abilene Mayor’s Cup winners. For any of you that don’t know this is the 4th year of the Mayor’s Cup and all three of the previous years a San Angelo team has taken the Championship. The 1st year the Warlocks took it, the 2nd year team TNT brought it back “home”, last year the Warlocks again won it shocking the mayor by drinking out of the cup. This a San Angelo team once again took the title keeping the Mayor’s Cup in San Angelo for at least another year. Congrats to MooseKnuckle, Johnny Deleon, Matt Harris and Albert Bravo…Way to go guys!!!
MINIS
There is one more week left to vote on how you would like to see this year’s Night Glow schedule play out. If you want your voice to be heard get on the CVDGA website and VOTE http://www.conchovalleydiscgolf.org/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?11220.last
Wednesday’s mini is set for random doubles at Brentwood Park. Teetime is 6pm…be sure to bring lights as close to half of the mini will be in the dark!
Saturday is back to South Concho for handicapped singles. I won’t be there so anyone making it be sure to have the handicaps on hand. Teetime is 10am.
Sunday is skins at the lake at 2pm.
Just a little heads up for next week. Since we can’t really do handicap singles at Picnic next week due to lack of day light and the fact that there is a RIPT round scheduled for the next Wednesday night. We are moving next Wednesday’s mini to South Concho and the format will be random doubles.
Brownfield’s 1st Annual Basherpalooza
This weekend is the 1st sanctioned event in Brownfield. Online registration has closed, but for those who didn’t get it done in time and still wants to go…it’s not to late.
