 10-2-2012  Well hopefully everyone is recovered from this past WET weekend and is ready for another weekly update! This week we have a full mini schedule. The Big Spring One-Day Fun-Day is this Sunday. Abilene’s Mayors Cup is next weekend. Then Brownfields Basherpalooza is the weekend after that. But don’t forget about the Ace Race happening on November 3rd, you’ve got about 10 days left to sign up before it’s too late! As this is another pre-registration only event. There is also a Brady doubles tourney that has popped up on the radar for the end of October.
Before we get into the weekly update this week I want to thank Jeanne for running another great West Texas Doubles event this last weekend. Even with the weather issues things went very well and really wasn’t that bad to play in. Thanks also to all the out-of-towners that made the trip in to play even in the flooding conditions. Thanks to the guys and gals that helped get the courses ready for the tourney. Last Wednesday handicap singles mini of the year will be at Brentwood Park this week. As always teetime is 6pm.
Saturday’s mini is set for handicapped singles at North Concho at 10am. Can’t wait for this one…been a long time since I’ve played singles there.
Sunday will be skinz at the lake. 2pm teetime. There is an optional $2 ace pot that is thrown off for after the round. Also each hole is worth 25 cents except 9 and 18 which are 50 cents.
2012 ACE RACE
Ace Race registration is now open!!! You can sign up with Patty at any Mini he is at, or bring in your form already filled out to Cortese Flag.(I WILL NOT HAVE REGISTRATION FORMS PRINTED OUT)
Date is set for November 3rd
(yes we know they want it done in October, but this was a better open weekend)
This is a pre-registration only event; you must be signed up by Oct. 12th
Location will be at Bright Brewing in Eola, Texas! It will be a different course than we use at the Ice Bowl.
Cost: $25 which is well under the value of the merch. you get for the money!!!
Big Spring – One-day Fun-day Sunday
The 20th ever Discover Big Spring DG tourney is set for October 7th.

Limited to first 90 players

There is also random draw doubles the Saturday before at Comanche Trail Park lake course ($10 per person)

Abilene’s Mayor’s Cup
The CVDGA has taken all 3 of these championships with the Warlocks taking the 1st and 3rd and Team TNT taking the 2nd. Let’s hope some CVDGA teams make the trip up and keep the Abilene’s Mayors Cup in San Angelo! Good luck!!!
